Setting up your pipeline

Default stages, how to rename them, and how to add new ones without breaking automations.

Your pipeline is the ordered list of stages a lead moves through, from first touch to closing. LendAxiom seeds defaults that work for most loan officers; tweak them so they match how you actually close loans.

Default stages

When your workspace is created we seed these stages, in order:

  1. New Lead
  2. Contacted
  3. Pre-Qual
  4. Application
  5. Underwriting
  6. Closed Won
  7. Closed Lost

Every default drip campaign and the Melanie suggestion engine reference these stage keys, so leaving the keys alone (even if you rename the labels) keeps the rest of the system working.

Renaming a stage

Settings -> Pipeline. Click a stage's pencil icon, edit the label, save. The label changes everywhere; the underlying stage key does not.

Adding a stage

If you want a custom stage between two defaults (say, a "Docs Requested" between Application and Underwriting), add it through the same settings page. Drag to reorder. New stages do not have drip templates by default; you can configure templates after the stage exists.

Reordering

Drag and drop. Reorder is instant for new leads; existing leads stay in their current stage until you move them.

Removing a stage

You can only remove a stage that has no leads in it. Move any existing leads to a different stage first, then delete.

Why this matters

Melanie's "lead is stuck" detection runs against your pipeline. A clean pipeline that matches how you actually work means the suggestions she surfaces are useful instead of noisy.
